Corps of Engineers hosts open house on clean-up By DeManda Arkfeld La Vista Sun (NE) April 30, 2008 ASHLAND - New construction is supporting the environmental clean up action near Mead. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers held an open house on April 24 at the VFW Hall in Ashland to inform community members about new construction and the background of the excavation project at the former Nebraska Ordnance Plant site near Mead. According to Corps of Engineers member David Nelson, a new extraction well, EW-14 is being constructed to restore containment on the southern edge of the plume under load line three. ...
