Ingleside base redevelopment group receives $819K

INGLESIDE - Nine months after the Ingleside Local Redevelopment 
Authority was charged with redeveloping some of Naval Station Ingleside, 
the authority received more than $800,000 to continue its work.

The group, which will plan the reuse of 155 surplus acres known as the 
Electromagnetic Roll Facility, has received almost $1.3 million to date. 
The money was requested through the Office of Economic Adjustment, the 
federal agency that oversees communities affected by the Base Closure 
and Realignment process.

On Friday, members of the authority announced they had received $819,363 
to purchase a geographic information system, hire an analyst and hire a 
firm to conduct a feasibility study on a proposed corridor in Ingleside.
