Big changes for Battle Creek Air National Guard base

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - In 2005, the Pentagon announced 
major changes for Battle Creek's Air National Guard base after the Base 
Realignment and Closure Commission recommended that the base be closed down.

After some intense lobbying from local leaders, the military agreed to 
keep it open, but the A-10 aircraft that are currently on sight would be 
moved to the Selfridge base near Detroit.

Governor Granholm stopped by the base on Wednesday to talk to National 
Guard leaders about the base's future. Those changes include some jobs 
leaving, but some new ones are on the way.
