NM lab notifies 1,890 people of possible exposure By The Associated Press Las Cruces Sun-News (NM) January 28, 2009 LOS ALAMOS - Los Alamos National Laboratory is notifying 1,890 current and former employees and visitors they might have been exposed to beryllium at a technical area. The lab is offering a beryllium sensitivity test to those who might have been exposed and will arrange a consultation with an industrial hygienist for those concerned about exposure. Beryllium is an extremely light, non-radioactive silver-gray metal used in electronics, aerospace and weapons work as well as such goods as golf clubs and bicycle frames. ...
