Compensation Available To Those Exposed To Toxic Chemicals Eric L. Wesson Kansas City Call (MO, KS) September 1, 2009A Kansas City man has fought tooth and nail for the past 10 years to get someone to listen to his claims that chemicals at a local plant caused former employees and their families health problems and even death. He has finally seen his labor pay off as several local lawyers join in his fight to prove his point. Maurice Copeland has argued that the chemicals used by Honeywell to make bio-chemical weapons has caused former employees and their families a wide range of medical issues and now people can start getting paid as a part of a settlement if they file the proper paperwork. "The problem has been that once they pay a family member they are under a gage order and cannot say anything about their settlement or the situation. This has resulted in families not knowing what is and has been going on and what their rights are," Copeland told THE CALL. "The legal part of what I am doing to get redress for the people that I feel have suffered under a cover up of their illnesses and other health issues by Honeywell under the course of 32 years that I worked there under Honeywell, Bendix and Allied Signal, which carried all different names but was the same company under the stewardship of the Department of Energy and Department of Defense," Copeland said. ....
