Special Report: 'Forever chemicals' in Rantoul groundwater by Lauren Kostiuk Fox Illinois (WICS/WCCU) TV news October 16, 2019 RANTOUL, Ill. - They are nicknamed "forever chemicals" - PFAS, a group of more than 6,000 perfluorinated carboxylic acid. We drink them. We eat them. We breathe them. For more than 70 years, these man-made chemicals have been polluting our water and making people sick, specifically PFOS and PFOA.
