Concerns remain over $400 million cleanup, preservation program BY JOHN MCCARTHY Associated Press Writer http://www.ohio.com/bj/news/ohio/docs/004160.htm COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- More than 60 local governments, conservation groups and others with an interest in how the Clean Ohio Fund will work have responded to proposals by Gov. Bob Taft's administration, a top Taft aide said Thursday. Voters in November approved state Issue 1, the $400 million bond program that will help clean up abandoned industrial sites and preserve green space. The state on Jan. 12 outlined its proposals for implementing the program and invited responses. Questions about eligibility for state grants and what will be cleaned up topped the list of concerns, said Kate Bartter, Taft's chief aide for regulatory issues.
