Council panel to talk about Gates pollution Metro briefs Denver Post December 8, 2004 A committee of the Denver City Council is scheduled this morning to discuss high levels of a volatile industrial solvent found on the eastern portion of the former Gates Rubber Co. campus. Gates recently tested groundwater on the 30-acre parcel on the east side of South Broadway and found trichloroethylene, or TCE, at levels far above the state limit, state officials said. TCE is an industrial solvent that can cause headaches, lung irritation or dizziness if breathed in small amounts. ...
