Cameron St. eyesore
If center goes unfinished, then everyone loses

It takes some doing to turn an otherwise conventional "brownfield" into 
a huge multimillion-dollar eyesore, but they managed to do it at the 
former Harrisburg Steel Corp. site at Cameron and Herr streets.

For years this long-vacant blighted site in the middle of Harrisburg 
stood waiting for someone to come along and build something to take 
advantage of its central location and proximity to the state Capitol and 
two interstate highways. That something was supposed to be the Capitol 
View Commerce Center, undertaken by developer David R. Dodd II, with 
financial support from private lenders, and the city, county, state and 
federal governments.
