Cleanup input sought for 600 Rio St. By RICH GREENE Red Bluff Daily News (CA) February 14, 2014 The public is being invited to review and comment on a proposed cleanup plan for 600 Rio St., which was once the site of a manufactured gas plant. ... None of the chemicals found in the groundwater, which occurs at a depth of about 10-38 feet below the surface, have flowed into Red Bluff's municipal wells. While siteworkers, the surrounding population and the environment are not at risk, a long-term cleanup would allow for the future reuse of the site. The Department of Toxic Substances Control is asking the public to review a plan proposed by PG&E, a former and current owner, to clean up the site.
