Grossinger’s Resort site cleaned up

LIBERTY - One year and about $6 million later, the grounds of the iconic Grossinger’s Resort are now a clean slate.

Demolition began last summer and crews recently finished cleanup of the site, part of which was declared a brownfield site by the state Department of Environmental Conservation, according to property manager Henry Zabatta.

Now Zabatta is waiting for the DEC to return to review the site so the project can finish.

“We, at this point, think that we’ve cleaned the entire site,” Zabatta added.
