Closed factory may become Michigan’s newest Superfund site By Paula Gardner Mlive (MI) September 18, 2019 A federal clean-up effort in 2015 removed 1,100 containers of chemicals from a closed plating shop in downtown Jackson, but now state and local officials say they need money to halt contamination spreading off-site. Jackson County officials will vote Tuesday, Sept. 17, on a resolution asking for the 4-acre property to be placed on the National Priorities List.
