League is right: public needs more input in Moffett cleanup

When it comes to government activity, more public input is always a good
thing. And in the case of the Moffett Field cleanup, where federal
government actions can impact human health, the environment and the
local economy for decades to come, giving local residents some power
over the cleanup would help ensure that the Navy and EPA are keeping
Mountain View's interests in mind.

For this reason, the request by the local League of Women Voters to get
the public more involved in the Superfund cleanup should be heeded by
the federal government as it figures out how to proceed with getting rid
of the former military base's voluminous toxic contamination.
