What about EPCRA (Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act)? Do any of you have experience with using it in a community to learn about what is being used or stored at a local facility (a potential, future brownfields)? Also, is EPCRA data maintained for places that are no longer operating (i.e. the place was in business until sometime after 1986 (the start of the law's requirements)? I am imagining that some of these places may now be brownfields. By the way, if you are not familiar with EPCRA, the full text of the act can be found at: http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/unframed/42/ch116.html Laura Solitare Ph.D. Candidate Rutgers University Department of Urban Planning and Policy Development ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To read CPEO's archived Brownfields messages visit http://www.cpeo.org/lists/brownfields If this email has been forwarded to you and you'd like to subscribe, please send a message to cpeo-brownfields-subscribe@igc.topica.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ____________________________________________________________ T O P I C A -- Learn More.
